ALP: Anna Livia Plurabelle
Anfang März 2006 erhielt ich einen besonderen Auftrag: ein Buch-Unikat um James Joyce für einen Sammler herzustellen. Ich wählte das Kapitel »Anna Livia Plurabelle« aus Finnegans Wake. Das ist das einzige Kapitel dieses außerordentlichen Buches, das Hans Wollschläger ins Deutsche übersetzte. Der Text ist aber im Original, und zwar handgeschrieben.
Das besonders große Format (64 x 51 cm) wurde von einem Druck bestimmt, der schon existierte: »Anna Livia«, der zum Titelbild wurde. Es war eine neunmonatige Arbeit, deren Ergebnis hier zu sehen ist.
Anna Livia ausgestellt
Das Buch wurde in verschiedenen Ausstellungen gezeigt, darunter in Ludwigsburg, in Fribourg (Schweiz), in Chemnitz, im Irischen Kulturzentrum in Paris. Außerdem konnte ich es in zwei Ausstellungen der Hirundo Press in Hamburg und Bad Säckingen zeigen.

In early March 2006 I received a remarkable commission: to create a unique book on a topic related to James Joyce for a collector. I chose the chapter »Anna Livia Plurabelle« from Finnegans Wake. Not only did I make unique prints, but all the materials were unique also, including the leather for the binding, which is no longer to be found in this size. The text was written by hand; this was another unique aspect.
The particularly large format (64 x 51 cm) was determined by one print that already existed: the monoprint »Anna Livia« on my own hand-made paper, which became the title image. It was a work of nine months‹ duration, and the result is partly to be seen here.
Viewings
The book has been shown in several exhibitions: two of these were single artist exhibitions in Hamburg and Bad Säckingen. Apart from this, it was shown among others in Ludwigsburg, in Fribourg (Switzerland), in the Irish Centre in Paris and in Chemnitz, where the collector, Leo Koenders, gave his last interview; this can be viewed on the introductory page, Unica.
