Another Day Trip

Ein Gedicht von Michael Rothenberg, eines Beat Poets aus Californien: Eine skur­ri­le Reihe von Eindrucken und Bildern, die das Gedächtnis irgend­wie zusammenhält.

Auf der zwei­ten Codex-Messe in Berkeley, 2009, kam Michael Rothenberg auf mich zu und frag­te, ob wir zusam­men­ar­bei­ten könn­ten. Ich sag­te, ger­ne, wenn es sich um ein noch nicht ver­öf­fent­li­ches Gedicht han­delt (alle mei­ne Zusammenarbeiten funk­tio­nie­ren so, schon seit dem Anfang). Daraufhin schick­te er mir ein paar, aus denen ich die­ses aus dem Jahr 2008 aus­such­te. Hier ist das Ergebnis…

A poem by Michael Rothenburg, a beat poet from California who’s known for his road­shows and his blog Big Bridge.

He came up to my table at the second Codex fair in Berkeley, February 2009, and asked whe­ther I’d like to work with him on a new poem — all my col­la­bo­ra­ti­ons have this pre­re­qui­si­te, as can be seen in the case of Robert Crawford, Robert Bringhurst and others. This poem was writ­ten the year befo­re, 2008. Here is the result, a small broadsheet in a trans­pa­rent enve­lo­pe. I con­side­red that sin­ce the poem its­elf had a distinct slant to it, so should the image. The tech­ni­que shows my typi­cal use of simul­ta­neous colour etching.

Edition of 50, num­be­red and signed by both poet and artist.
